Ready For Love

I am ready for love

Why are you hiding from me
I'd quickly give my freedom
To be held in your captivity

I am ready for love
All of the joy and the pain
And all the time that it takes
Just to stay in your good grace

Lately I've been thinking
Maybe you're not ready for me
Maybe you think I need to learn maturity
They say watch what you ask for
Cause you might receive
But if you ask me tomorrow
I'll say the same thing
I am ready for love
Would you please lend me your ear?
I promise I won't complain
I just need you to acknowledge I am here

A Blessed Healing

Yesterday Leena A. photography kicked off the wedding season with a lovely wedding. I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful couple. Candace and Stephen met many years ago and have even lived in Africa together.  Their distant journey led them back to the States, and into each other's hearts.  During a quiet moment when I stole the couple away from their ceremony to take pictures of each other I asked them to remember their first kiss. As I looked through my lens, I could feel the super love, devotion and compassion that they felt for one another while they giggled and looked into each others eyes.  There were so many moments like this, that I could go on and on. I immediately took to Stephen. He is a fellow graphic artist and creative soul. Candace is a quiet, giving soul with so much love to share. It was so refreshing to see such innocent love. The words from (one of my favorite artists) India Arie was playing at one moment and it stood out in my mind the entire night--- "Told him my biggest secret And he told me four. He smiled at me and said that makes me love more And then he made me laugh And I knew it was a sign That he was a man, That I wanted in my life"-- India Arie from "He Heals Me"....These beautiful words summarized the moment that Candace knew that Stephen would be her husband. India Arie couldnt' have put it better.
I wish them the best! Without giving too much away, here is a sneak peek from their lovely day. More to come later.  Enjoy! xoxo

Honored!

Talk about totally intimidated today! One of my dearest friends-- artist extraordinaire-- Kathryn Short asked me to do a portrait session for her. I was shakin' in my boots because I totally look up to "Katie"...(as I call her.) I was completely honored and up to the task. We had a great time, and she was a complete sport about letting me torture her with different poses and props. The day was fabulous- despite the dripping humidity. I managed to come up with some Ahhh- mazing shots. Kathryn has got to have some of the most beautiful eyes. Here is a little something from our session. More to come soon! Sweetness!

The only word I can think of to describe the Mason girls is SWEETNESS! I had the wonderful opportunity to catch up with the Mason girls this afternoon. They were my first clients ever! And I am so glad to have the opportunity to have another session with these lovely little ladies. They shine for the camera and need immediate contracts to their favorite store-- Delia-- to be models. We dodged in and out of the rain today, but that didnt' hold them back. In fact, there was no sun for this session, but they mangaged to brighten my day by rockin' all of their photos. I swear it was as if they were straight from a modeling agency. They came prepared with props- with a little help from the Leena A. photography staff- we were able to hook up some pretty awesome outfits. I totally love the Mason girls!!! To Syd and Mac-- you rock!!! Luv ya!!! xo

Who's the fiercest mother of all?

My mother has got to be the prettiest, kindest woman on the planet. And, not to mention, she hands down gets the "patience of gold" award for teaching more than 3,700 high school teenagers for the past 37 years. Yes-- now that's a solid rock woman!!! She is retiring next week, and I am so proud of her. Um,,, well she is retiring from full time teacher to full time grandmother now. (okay, don't tell her I said that.) I had the distinct pleasure of doing a photo session with my adorable mom on Monday, and I must say-- I taught her well. She was ever so fierce and totally rocked the camera! Work it MOM!!! She did mention that in her retirement, that she wants to be the "hippest" grandma in town. Well, after this shoot, I'd say you've got that checked mom. Love you! Enjoy retirement. You deserve it! xo

Harmony

She stole my heart!

Loved this!

Because everyone can not look this cool in a BMW!

I had the pleasure of spending the day with Anthony Carter this past weekend. He has got to be one of the coolest guys ever! So laid back, great sense of humor, and did I mention perfect pitch! Yes, he is a self taught musician and a darn good one. That grand piano wasn't just a decoration in his house. Phew-- and he wanted me to dig up my old tunes from my conseveratory days--- eh huh...wasn't happening. Anway, I hope to do more sessions with AC. He just oozes awesomeness!
