She had style, she had GRACE

Stylish, sophisticated, smart and full of GRACE! These are just a few of the thousands of adjectives I could think of to describe Grace! I had the pleasure of spending the day in Washington, DC with Grace on Saturday. And I have to tell you, any woman who can navigate the perpetually busy streets of Washington, DC is alright in my book. But back to the matter at hand...Grace is a lovely, intelligent woman with ambition and a heart of gold. Grace is premiering her event planning business (more to come on that later) and needed some snazzy pictures for her growing portfolio. Well, she called the right person to do the job. Along with my stylist, Melissa, we painted the town with GRACE! Here is a sneak peek of our ever so FAB day! More to come later I promise!!!

Sisterly Love

Words can not describe the fierceness that occured today. I had a blast with the Thompson sisters. It was so much fun capturing their natural beauty on this "almost" Fall day. We hung out on a leather couch in the sun and they just rocked the camera! I almost forget what it was like to be young and hip! In fact, the sisters reminded me of my childhood fantasy of having a sister. These two uber GORG sisters had such a closeness that I always wanted in a sister. I could tell that staying up late, whispering secrets in the dark, sharing their favorite and not so favorite moments of each day in their lives is the norm for these two. I'm so glad I had the pleasure of hanging with the them. And I thank them for allowing me to share in their close bond. There's nothing better in life than having an instant BFF. Thanks girls! Sun Turning Beauty

Thanks to my friend and location scout- Lily. I visited the most amazing sunflower farm. Helianthus annuus is the proper name for this beauty. It kind of reminded me of my trip to Southern Spain this past summer. The only difference, is these flowers were alive. (Sorry Spain-- I think the heat killed all of their sunflower fields.) Anyway, the Sunflower is my all time favorite flower. I used to grow these monstrous beauties when I lived in Virginia Beach. I absolutely adore this flower because it's like capturing the sun in your own backyard. Now, to get all scientific and historic on you- this yellow beauty is native to  the Central Americas, but can be found to grow up to unheard of heights in one of my favorite countries- Italy! yes, from a Northern Italian (Venetian) city called Padua dating back to 1526.  How's that for location!  
Sunflowers received their name becacuse they have a phototropic response called heliotropism (sun turning).  The leaves and flower heads of sunflowers follow the sun and their orientation therefore changes from east to west during the day. Now that's beautiful and why it is my favorite flower because it follows the sun! Why not follow the sun!

Splendid, Lovely, Rainy Day

I had the pleasure of hanging out with the Lyimo family today. We ate, we danced, we sang, we flew paper airplanes, but most of all, the Lyimos rocked the camera! There's the ever so amazing Kelly who is the most energetic, photogenic sweetpea ever. She was a natural in front of the camera, and even made herself my unofficial- official assistant. Then there was the other sweetpea- Adam. Adam just oozed sweetness with a hint of "I'm up to something in his eyes." And of course, there was Mama Lyimo- Kim. Kim had a beautiful presence that only the camera could capture. I fell in love with Kim's quiet beauty, and her amazing hazel/blue/brown eyes. I totally enjoyed my session with the Lyimo's and hope to go back and play with them again. The rain prevented us from playing outside today, but that just gives me another excuse to come play again. So here is a sneak peak from our splended day...Luv you guys!! xo
